City & Guilds Assured Certificate in Food Business Start-up (Top-up)

Program Overview

Medium of Instruction: Cantonese

This course serves as a top-up program and may be completed in one of two ways: 

  • If you have the Business Startup Certificate since 2015
    1. Option 1: For those who already have 1 year or above kitchen experience or already have another kitchen-related certificate:
      1. Pay $1600 (including certificate by UK, e-certificate, administration, badge and exam)
      2. Register for City & Guilds Assured Certificate in Food Business Start-up by filling out the online application and make payment.
    2. Option 2: For those without kitchen experience nor kitchen-related certificate
      1. Attend any one of the interest classes at HKCA (8 lessons or more)
      2. Pay $1600 (including certificate by UK, e-certificate, administration, badge and exam)
      3. Register for City & Guilds Assured Certificate in Food Business Start-up by filling up the online application and make payment.
  1. No Business Startup Certificate but with any other kitchen-related certificate
    1. Attend the Business Start-up top-up course (1 theory class + exam + 2 optional whole day self practice sessions) (fees $4,500)

Awards

To pass, students must:

  • have an attendance record of 100%
  • and must score 50% or above in the final exam

Students who are able to fulfill the above criteria may apply for an “Assured Certificate in Food Business Start-up.”  Award will be issued within 3 months.
